Double Standards

Is it too much to ask even for a bit of attention from your partner? As a guy a lot people would say that a guy should not ask for attention.

But when it comes to a female asking for it, most people will say that it is natural and proper attention should be given.

Why is it that men are always required to have a stronger personality than that of his woman counterpart? What is the sense of relationship if there are such standards and requirement? 

Why all the complications? Should not we be helping each other as partners to make it last? Rather than imposing such known standards?

Is this how the world goes? Should this be tolerated? Can't we at least try to change it?

I don't know but do I make sense? Urghh well If I don't then please be nice. It's a rough life for me, so please don't add up to the build up of my disappointments.
